Another Inspiring Digital Humanities Open Mic at SBU Libraries!

Yesterday afternoon the University Libraries held an open mic event for digital humanists on campus.  Stony Brook University librarians Kate Kasten (Head of Humanities & Social Science) and Darren Chase (Head of Scholarly Communication) presented the Libraries’ research guide intended to support students, staff, and faculty members engaged in digital humanities work.  All members of the campus community are encouraged to reach out to the library for support and partnership in digital humanities work, and this was an excellent opportunity to introduce ourselves and to offer ways of contacting us.

Web Services Librarian Dana Haugh presented her digital humanities project, a digital library of the works of Milton.  Her presentation inspired a discussion of best practices for digital libraries of the works of literary figures, as well as ways to engage with digital projects.

The event was attended by faculty and staff members from a wide variety of disciplines.

Looking forward to the next Digital Humanities Open Mic, to be held in October 2018!
