In celebration of Open Access Week, the University Libraries hosted a Wikipedia Edit-a-thon: “Open for Whom? Equity in Open Knowledge.” The event was lead by Lane Raspberry, Wikimedian-in-residence at the Data Science Institute at the University of Virginia and a team of librarians. In the two hours, attendees edited 11 articles relating to race and health, female composers, gender neutrality, homeless population and libraries, among others. In total, over 1000 words were added!
