On Tuesday, March 12, 2019, Dr. Amy Marschilok presented “Electrochemical Energy Storage Systems: Progress and Opportunities” in the Special Collections Seminar Room of the Melville Library.
Dr. Marschilok discussed how human development and quality of life are directly related to clean energy access. She explained why batteries are complex systems and how her research team explores improving battery power and energy storage. Dr. Marschilok further elaborated on the mission of the Center for Mesoscale Transport Properties, which is to make innovative, scalable electrochemical energy systems.
The lecture ignited a rich discussion among Dr. Marschilok, emeritus, faculty, and students.
