Come see the new musical instrument display just inside the entrance of the Music Library, W-1530. Featured are various percussion and wind instruments from different parts of the world. From the collection of Celeste Hessler, assistant head of the Music Library.
Also featured this month is another display located by the Music Seminar room, an historical outline from thewww.musicprintinghistory.org website about the former art of music engraving. Engravers of the past painstakingly etched musical notation onto lead alloy plates in the mirror image of the actual printed music. This method was used up until the year 2000. Today, most music is printed using music software.
The display will run through the fall semester.
